BLACK OUT THE SUN ↴

Once a Principality and guardian of the Eastern Gate, Azariah’s path diverged from the Divine Plan following the Averted Apocalypse. Choosing a life of domesticity in the South Downs with the demon Crowley, he embraced a forbidden union that resulted in the birth of their son, Jude. This act of Fearless Love, intended as the ultimate fulfillment of his creation, was deemed treasonous by the Archangel Gabriel. Under the guise of holy judgment, Gabriel forcibly separated the family, leading to a celestial coup. In the ensuing conflict, Azariah overthrew the existing hierarchy of Heaven and ended Gabriel’s reign. However, the cost of his victory and the loss of his partner led to his own fall from grace, transforming the once-gentle librarian into a formidable, sovereign power.

The Great Descent

The San Diego Era & Onyx Records

To safeguard his son from the lingering reach of both Heaven and Hell, Azariah relocated to Southern California. Under the alias Azariah, he established Onyx Records. What began as a cover to blend into human society blossomed into a global media empire. As a mogul, he navigates the human spotlight with a calculated elegance, using the music industry as a shield for his and Jude’s true natures.

Gender Fluidity

As an entity of dual essence, Azariah possesses the ability to shift gender at will. While he often manifests in a primary feminine form for public appearances or aesthetic preference, he maintains a strong affinity for his masculine identity.

Philosophy

Having transitioned from a creature of dutiful obedience to an independent architect of his own destiny, he views the old laws of Heaven and Hell as obsolete. He is a protector first, a businessman second, and a romantic only in the quiet, painful memories of a 6,000 year bond.

Umbral Manipulation

As a Prince of Hell, Azariah commands the Umbral Court, a legion of sentient shadows that dwell within the deepest folds of the underworld. These aren't just lackeys; they are extensions of his own dark will. When he stands in a room, the shadows at his feet aren't just cast by the light, they are a living, breathing hierarchy that whispers intelligence to him about every soul present. He can command the shadows in a room to detach from the walls and floor, coiling around his obsidian blades to extend their reach or rising up to barricade a door.In dim lighting, he can pull the shadows around his body to become functionally invisible, moving through his record label like a ghost made of ink and velvet. He is capable of pinning an opponent to the spot by piercing their shadow with one of his daggers, physically pinning them to the ground through their own silhouette. When he is working late, the shadows in the corners of his office act as a silent security system, shifting and lengthening toward anyone who approaches his door with ill intent. He treats the shadows like a network of hidden doorways; he can step into the velvet drapes of his villa and emerge seconds later from the silhouette of a rival’s desk across the city. When he steps through shadows, he doesn't just disappear; he seems to collapse inward like a folding fan, leaving behind a brief, high energy distortion that smells like ozone and cold ink.He can reach his hand into a shadow on his desk and pull an item out of a shadow across the room, making him a terrifyingly efficient thief and a lethal combatant who can strike from any angle.During the rare moments he wants to truly disappear, he can merge his physical form entirely with a shadow for hours, becoming nothing more than a cold, violet tinted patch of darkness on a wall.He possesses a lingering demonic quirk: his shadow doesn't always mimic his physical movements, sometimes appearing to have a mind of its own by subtly expanding or shifting into a more intense, winged silhouette when his temper flares. When Crowley is in the room, the shadow settles instantly, often leaning toward Crowley’s own shadow as if they’re sharing a private moment. The Umbral ProwlerAzariah can dissolve his physical form into a pool of living ink and reform into the shape of a sleek, jet black cat. In this state, his fur is as dark as a void, absorbing all light around him, save for his eyes, which remain a piercing, glowing violet. Because he is made of the same essence as the shadows he commands, he can move through the world as a literal silhouette, slipping under locked doors or flattening himself against a wall to become a two dimensional image that no human eye can track. While he tries to maintain a dignified, royal aura even as a cat, he can’t help but let out a soft purr when Crowley is nearby. If Crowley picks him up, Azariah’s shadow weight becomes as light as a feather, making him the most effortlessly portable Prince of Hell in existence.

Phonographic Memory

He can perfectly replicate any sound he has ever heard, from a lover's whisper to the literal sound of a star exploding, using it to layer impossible, haunting textures into the tracks he produces. He has a habit of perfectly mimicking Crowley’s voice to finish his sentences or to place ridiculous drink orders when Crowley isn't looking, just to see how long it takes for the other demon to realize he's being played.

Tattoo & Scent Manifestation

Whenever he successfully signs a soul bound contract or undergoes a significant life shift, a new, intricate mark appearing in shimmering violet ink manifests on his skin. While he keeps most of them hidden beneath his velvet suits, these tattoos are not merely decorative, they are living archives that pulse with a faint, violet light when he is channeling his demonic energy.

Azariah’s signature scent shifts based on his mood: usually, he smells of expensive cologne and vanilla, but when his demonic side surfaces, the air around him shifts into the ozone scent of a lightning strike and burnt sugar.

Kinetic Precision

While the matched obsidian daggers are his preference, Azariah is a master of blade craft who can turn any edged object, from a silver letter opener to a shard of a broken vinyl record, into a lethal extension of his will. His movements are so precise that he doesn't just strike; he 'composes' a fight with accuracy, ensuring every cut is both intentional and final.Azariah possesses a precision that allows him to calculate the exact trajectory and force needed to throw any blade with 100% accuracy, even while moving at high speeds. Whether it’s a heavy combat knife or a delicate throwing star, he can pin a target to a wall by their sleeve from across a thumping, strobe lit club without ever grazing their skin. Unless, of course, he intends to.

Celestial Radiance

Despite his sharp obsidian blades and his calculated 'fallen' persona, Azariah still possesses a radiance that surfaces during moments of genuine joy. This isn't a flash of light, but a sudden, overwhelming warmth that fills the room, causing nearby flowers to bloom instantly or making people in his vicinity feel a inexplicable sense of peace. In the boardroom, he is a shark, but the moment Crowley leans against his desk or brings him a specific vintage of wine, Azariah’s rough edges seem to melt. His high energy restlessness settles into a calm, steady rhythm that feels like a sanctuary. He is known to 'accidentally' leave massive tips for struggling musicians or use his shadow step to secretly return lost items to people in need, always brushing it off as a 'strategic investment' if Crowley catches him doing it.While his public smile is a media ready weapon, his private smile, the one reserved exclusively for Crowley, is the only time the persona vanishes entirely, leaving behind the soft, ancient soul that once guarded the gates of Eden.

Living Library

By touching a person or an object they cherish, he doesn't just see images; he experiences their life as a 'narrative arc,' feeling the weight of their past regrets and the flickering possibilities of their future as if he were reading the final draft of their biography. When he brushes his hand against a rival’s sleeve, he can read the moment they decided to betray him weeks before it actually happens. This makes him nearly impossible to plot against, as he is always several chapters ahead of everyone else in the room. This is why he often wears gloves and doesn't like physical touch; the noise of thousands of pasts and futures can be overwhelming. In his softer moments, he uses this to find the exact moment a person’s heart broke in the past, allowing him to offer a word of kindness.Crowley is the only person whose timeline Azariah refuses to read. He considers Crowley’s future a 'sequel' he wants to experience in real time, though he occasionally catches glimpses of Crowley’s ancient, golden past, a reminder of the era when they first crossed paths.

The world thinks it understands music. It thinks a hit is a mathematical formula of catchy hooks and marketable faces. At Onyx Records, we know better. We didn't set out to build a label. We set out to build a sanctuary, a space for the sounds that refuse to be quieted. Our foundation isn't built on market trends; it’s built on a singular, unwavering focus: finding the notes that change people.I believe that music is a force of nature. It’s a literal sound that can alter the air in a room, the pulse of a crowd, or the trajectory of a life. I built Onyx to be a home for artists who understand that power, the ones who don’t just sing, but resonate. Our mission is simple but lethal in its precision: we find the raw, unpolished, and often uncomfortable talent and we hone it. We refine that specific, unique energy until it becomes undeniable. We aren't interested in the radio ready; we are interested in the game changing. My approach to business is identical to my approach to music: absolute precision. At Onyx, we don’t believe in luck. We believe in strategy, artistry, and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence.Every artist we sign, every track we release, is a strategic choice. We look past the immediate trend to see the long term impact, identifying the pattern that will define the next cultural movement. Our recording spaces are designed not just for sound, but for atmosphere. We use cutting edge technology to capture not only the notes, but the intent, the emotion that makes a song unforgettable. When you join the Onyx fold, you are part of a curated roster. We are focused on building a collective of like minded visionaries who push each other to create work that echoes.Onyx Records is more than a business. It is a legacy in the making. It is the sound of the future, delivered with the sharpness and accuracy of an absolute professional.
The noise is temporary. The Onyx music is eternal.
